Modern orthodontics for modern lives.
What makes Owl the wise choice?
We are a deeply-rooted, multi-location orthodontic practice serving families all over Western New York, and we’ve been straightening smiles since 1955. Whether we’re caring for a child, teen, or adult, every smile we see is different, and that informs our personalized approach to modern orthodontic treatment. When you make the wise choice for you and your family, you can expect a precise and efficient experience that aligns with your busy life—and above all, keeps you smiling.
Meet your orthodontists, Dr. Walla and Dr. Youssef.
Dr. Matthew Walla joined the Owl Orthodontics family in August 2010 and became the leader of the practice in 2019. He is originally from Indiana (go Hoosiers!) and grew up in a small town near Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Walla received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Indiana University before earning his dental degree from New York University, where he graduated as valedictorian of his class. Dr. Walla continued at NYU to complete a two-year post graduate program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society. When Dr. Walla isn’t at the office, he’s spending time with his wife, Liz, and his son, Ethan. He enjoys listening to music, reading fiction, and snowboarding.
Dr. Shaheen Youssef joined the Owl Orthodontics team in 2021. Originally from Long Island, New York, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies from Fordham University in New York City. From there, Dr. Youssef pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude, and then completed a one-year post graduate certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at UB. After practicing as a general dentist in New York City, he completed a three-year orthodontic program at UB, receiving a Certificate of Advanced Study and a Master of Science in Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and UB Dental Alumni Association. Dr. Youssef enjoys marathon running, traveling the world, and exploring different cuisines.
From at the chair to in the community.
When our team’s not at the office caring for our patients, we’re doing what we can to care for our community. From joining forces with the Tiger’s Den Food Pantry to supporting Summit Educational Resources—the region’s leading provider of programs for individuals with developmental, social, and behavioral challenges—we’re not only committed to straightening teeth but strengthening our community, too.
